Iconic Tower Verre Églomisé

Gold and Silver Leaf, Translucent Lacquers, Pearlescent Pigments on Glass

Measuring 4.5 metres tall, this huge verre églomisé artwork for the Raffles Hotel in the Iconic Tower, New Cairo, Egypt is likely the largest piece of gilded glass artwork ever produced. Covering 160 square meters across two rooms and taking almost a year to create, it will fill the space with light as it captures the Egyptian sun and bounces it through the layers of exotic foliage and bird life.
The interactive 3D visualisation below is composed from individual photographs of the 227 glass panes in the main atrium.
