Gold, Resin, Mother of Pearl, Hand Polished Lacquers

Drawing inspiration from traditional European pastoral tapestries, Ascent is a five-panel  wall hanging utilising traditional water gilding and japanning techniques on a solid resin metallic surface. Gold leaf is applied, distressed and secured beneath a polished varnish finish with mother of pearl accents.
